The Learning Curve of a Country and Its President

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

When you go to school, you learn about a subject in incremental lessons. In order to evaluate your comprehension there are periodic tests. Life seems to be that way as well, whether you are an individual, a corporation or a country. Rarely are we completely prepared for jobs or experiences that launch us into a new learning paradigm or curve. Sometimes we struggle a bit as our "knowns" are challenged and new skills are developed. But when we persevere and give ourselves a chance to find our new footing, we succeed. Sometimes we find ourselves over our heads and the Peter Principle comes to mind: we rise to the level of our own incompetence. It does not matter whether you are a new employee, first day on a job in a low level position, or an incoming president of a corporation or a country. Unless you've already held the job, you have a lot to learn and to which to acclimate yourself, This is a heck of a time to discover you have risen to the level of your own incompetence. There's no back-up or do-over. Considering this possibility, in the instance of a country, it would be a wise idea to make a very careful selection as to who is nominated, elected, and eventually inaugurated as our fearless leader.

What happens when you open the door and step inside your new position? Will everything be as you thought it would be? Is what you anticipated waiting for you or is it completely different than presented? Were the basic facts distorted, hidden, untrue? Is it as simple as it seemed or more complicated? Is it volatile (in your face right now with no time to get up to speed) or can you take a moment to understand it before you have to decide its fate? If you are accepting the job as the head of your local carwash that is one level of competency and responsibility. If you are the president of a country and in our instance the defacto head of the free world, there is a whole different level of competency and responsibility. Go back to the last sentence of the first paragraph, careful selection is mandatory on the part of the citizenry.

What about those periodic tests mentioned above? How many, how frequently, how vital, how critical, and too many more values to mention are the subject of those tests. For an individual with a limited life span of let's say 80 years, there will be times when you feel like the target when the tests come fast and furious...and in multiples. At other moments, the testing is a natural progression of growth and development of an individual, reasonably comfortable in experience. For a corporation or a country which has the potential of living far longer than an individual, those tests enlarge in impact and sheer number and can extend over a much longer period of time. In the instance of our country, the USA, we were 233 years old on the 4th of July (2009). So far, that is over three times the lifespan of an individual. Lots more lessons, lots more testing. How do we know the overall lesson plan, isolated or specific lessons, and the scheduled tests? Astrology.

The natal positions of any chart give you the general game plan for the life, regardless of whether it is an animal, a human, a corporation or a country, and its overall purpose and direction, strengths, weaknesses, areas to be tested. The natal charts lists the positions (signs and degrees) of sensitivity to that entity and the natural activations that occur because life is cyclical in nature can be timed. Does that mean that the universe selects and enforces our experience and that free will is a myth? Is everything fated? Or does it mean that the universe cycles naturally and normally and we are affected and activated by natural cycles? What we do with each experience requires the use of our free will. What activators does the astrologer turn to? Myriad possibilities exist. Astrologers gravitate towards those techniques and activations that are comfortable and familiar as do most humans. Transits (including lunar phases and eclipses), progressions, directions, solar and planetary returns, diurnals, asteroids, the list goes on and on, I use three, sometimes four, You may use more or less or others. We all have our pet systems, hopefully selected by valid experience.

Most astrologers start with people charting, only a few branch out into mundane or political astrology. This article is about our country. What would a learning curve and a test look like for the USA? A current example might be the Saturn/Uranus opposition (cycle) that repeats itself every 45 years, which is plaguing our nation and the world at the moment. This is the aspect that pits conformity against change, the past against the future, hope and change against non-productive repetition... habit against realization. We are in the middle of one of those testing periods, so I think we are all paying attention. We can see very clearly that what we have been doing is not working. That is why we, as a citizenry, voted in hope and change, to face the future, and to correct our observable errors. It is very hard to fix something if you are not aware that something is wrong. First we get to recognize it, then we get to fix it, and it can take as long to fix as it did to break. This is the equivalent of a sine-wave cycle with equal upper and lower curves. See the logic?

That aspect did not "cause" our problem, we caused our problem. All the universe did was supply the energy to bring the problem to our attention and give us the opposition (awareness) as a tool to learn and to fix what was wrong. It is a 21-month aspect from beginning to end. It started November 4, 2008, Election Day. The 2nd of 5 passes (yes, 5 passes) occurred on February 5, 2009, within 2 weeks of Inauguration Day (January 20th). The 3rd pass occurred September 15, 2009, two weeks ago as I write this article. The 4th pass will be April 26, 2010 and the 5th and final pass will be July 26, 2010. A 21 month transiting lesson and testing of a Saturn opposition Uranus nature that has occurred in our USA Virgo rising chart in our 1st/7th house axis has hit us where we engage in-your-face experience (1st) and alliances (7th) and this dance is taking place conjunct the USA natal Neptune, our spiritual essence and motivation. Does that sound anything like what has been, or is, happening? These patterns have a beginning, a middle and an end. What was intitiated has a process and will reach a conclusion.

Our country and what it holds dear are badly in need of repair. The country and its needs called for a fix-it president. We the citizens voted our best choice (majority rules) and a man named Barack Obama was inaugurated. President Obama has done his best to find good people to help him fix things. So far he has less than a year of specific effort. He has already done more than most presidents have done upon entering office. As I recall, there are usually a lot of campaign promises but very little in the way of delivery and that is why the American public gets so jaded in its outlook. We do know the difference between most campaign promises and reality and they do not usually match up. President Obama ran on a platform of change. This is not surprising with his Aquarius rising.

As I look around, I do not see anyone else who has the vision, the capability and the courage to do the impossible, which is what we are asking. The current pundits and opponents talk a good game, or throw stones, or play big rock in the middle of the road, or spread fear and panic, but they offer no real solutions that I have seen. After the inauguration there was a politician with a blue folder holding a blank piece of paper as a solution, as if I or anyone who understands the nature and metaphor of a blank piece of paper would buy into that. The solution just can't be the actions that caused the problem in the first place. When you ask such politicians to verbalize or show their better idea, they do a verbal tap dance much as Richard Gere did in the movie "Chicago." Go past the entertainment value, the skit was very informative regarding human manipulation. Politicians keep tap dancing verbally hoping we won't notice they are not performing in reality. This time, campaign promises are actually being worked on. Surprisingly, several promises have already been kept. What a novel political idea-a promise kept. The pundits and fact-checking organizations are keeping tab. You will never satisfy all of the people all of the time but there appears to be at least an honest attempt. Right or wrong is always in the eye of the beholder, personal perspective.

At this point it is important to emphasize one point. President Obama has repeatedly stated that he intends to lead by looking forward. Let us not distract the man by making him look back while he walks forward (leading). Try doing that yourself, it just doesn't work well. There should be a time to right the wrongs. Right now President Obama's eye must be on the present as he moves us toward our future.

The Principle of Proper Alignment

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

The other day one of my students let me watch one of his videos. It is an excellent video that goes along with the book "Attack Proof" by John Perkins. He presents some concepts developed from on the street experience and I think he is pretty much right on with his concept.

I do take exception with one thing. In his commentary on punching he says not to use a clenched fist as punching hard could cause your wrist to fold or in some way be damaged. I agree unless the fist is held with proper alignment every time. Properly making a fist is accomplished by folding the fingers tightly so the tips of the fingers are at the base of the respective fingers. The thumb is then placed over the index finger only and pressed tightly to strengthen the fist. But there is more. By slightly cocking the fist upward and tightening the polis brevis muscle the wrist is now in proper alignment and you can punch through just about anything without hurting your wrist.

To test this concept of making a fist, make the fist as described above. Turn it only ¾ of the way and cock it enough to tighten the polis brevis muscle located on the radius bone at the wrist joint. Then have a partner attempt to bend the fist up or down. This should, with proper tightening of the polis brevis muscle, be nearly impossible.

You should not have to have a different wrist alignment with other types of fists such as a center knuckle fist or an index finger single knuckle fist. The alignment is also the same for a knife hand strike. The alignment changes for a palm heel strike but that is a different animal altogether.

For a regular punch the teeth is not a good target. I speak from personal experience having cut a knuckle on some drunken dude's front teeth. Hey give me a break, I was only sixteen at the time and had not a clue of how to fight. There is also the concept of yin/yang. Punch only soft targets with the hard part of your hand; hit the hard targets with the soft part of your hand such as a knife hand or a palm heel.

Hitting specific parts of the face with a fist is allowable if you hit the right spots and you need not use full force to achieve results. The point I am speaking of is the corner of the eye (Triple Warmer 23 and Gall Bladder 1). The effect I am looking for here is a temporary short-circuiting of my opponent so I can do something a little more decisive.

In jujutsu as well as in any other of the grappling and striking arts proper alignment is critical and must be instilled into your training right from the beginning. Constrictions must be properly aligned if you are to accomplish a workable strangle or choke (one seals the blood, the other seals the breath). When throwing, you must have proper alignment if you are to execute the throw and keep your balance. When kicking you must have proper alignment so you may properly employ your hips and don't end up sitting on your butt wondering what happened.

In order for the body to learn proper alignment the instructor is burdened with teaching that alignment from day one of the student's journey in the martial arts. If he or she doesn't then he or she should be held criminally liable for negligence. Then it must be reinforced with every practice session. You must consciously employ the proper alignment with every technique every time until the body understands and you can execute your techniques without thought. Remember techniques change but principles remain constant. Employ the principles with each technique.

Conversely if you want to hurt your opponent, break his or her alignment. An excellent example of this is by doing a single-hand hold (a hold is to control, a lock is to break). The single-hand hold is done by grasping the base of the opponent's thumb with your fingers on a same side hold. That means his right hand is grasped by your left hand. Rotate the opponent's hand outward with the elbow bent ninety degrees at about forty-five degrees to the body. Your thumb is placed in the back of the opponent's hand at Triple Warmer 3. Once you have the hold apply enough pressure to cause the opponent to bend to his or her right. At this point the opponent becomes more susceptible to a punch or elbow strike to the area below the opponent's left ear. If you choose to attempt this in practice don't even think of holding me liable should you dislocate your partner's jaw or worse. Use caution.

In another venue of breaking alignment in doing a joint lock you have the opportunity to apply an additional axis to the technique causing complex torque. To demonstrate this we will use the bent wrist-lock. As your partner attempts to grab your left lapel with his right hand grasp his hand with your right hand as you strike upward with your left hand in an attempt to hyperextend his elbow. Grab his hand with your right hand by placing your fingers around the back of his hand and grasping the knife-edge of his hand. Your thumb is placed in the web of his thumb at Large Intestine 4. Rotate his little finger until it is up. Your left middle finger then digs into his forearm where the muscle bifurcates or Lung 5. His wrist should be bent as well as his elbow, thus putting the joints in opposition. His hand needs to be based against your chest. Now add the third axis by pointing at the floor with your index finger. This should bend your opponent's wrist. Make sure your partner knows to pat out or otherwise let you know it hurts and he is submitting. In a self-defense situation when your attacker "pats out" it means "you are doing well but please go a little harder!" At this point you may want to consider a solid snap kick to the solar plexus.

Consider the application of principles to your practice and see if it doesn't make a difference. Then train hard!

To Bark Or Not To?

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

That's the question. When is OK for your dog to bark? How early or how late should you let your dog bark? It is very difficult nowadays to find dog etiquette within the cities in which many owners have dogs and some neighbors may complain about the barking. But where do you draw the line and what is really the limit when it comes to dogs and barking?

In Miami for example, many of the old-style homes have large backyards and sometimes you may have three to four neighbors sharing the same property limit fence. You may have one neighbor in the back, one in the corner and two -one on each side. The Miami city law states that dogs are allowed to bark between 7 am and 9 pm but in my case, I try to be respectful of my neighbors and only let my dog out after 8:30 am and at night no later than 9 pm.

To bark or not to bark? Well, barking is regulated at the city and/or county level of local government. Is in nature of all dogs to bark and surprisingly enough, the people who sometimes get most offended are the ones who also own dogs! Wouldn't you think they understand better? In any event, is always good to try your best to get along with your neighbors and live happily ever after. But, if your neighbor insists and shows aggression after trying your very best and ensuring that you are complying with city and/or county laws, then your last choice may be to contact the local police department or law enforcement authorities.

As important is also for you to do your homework as a pet owner and consider where you are going to live when selecting your home location and your type of pet. Certain dog breeds are known to be excessive barkers such as Miniature Schnauzers, Beagles, Yorkshires and Toy Puddles, to name a few. There is so much stress in our day-to-day lives that we, as pet owners should try our best to create a good environment for our family and pets.

When acquiring any type of pet, we suggest you consult with an expert on the breed or species to ensure the selected pet will be a perfect fit for your family and/or lifestyle; therefore, minimizing the chances of the pet being placed for adoption and better yet both of you (owner and pet) enjoying a great life together.

Natural Treatments for Dog Heart Problems

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Natural treatments for dog heart problems are similar to treating people with heart attacks and atherosclerosis. Heart problems in dogs are widespread - especially among elderly dogs. This can be in the form of heart enlargement, weak heart muscle, fatigue, breathing difficulties, and shortness of breath. Preventing and treating heart disease in dogs is an ideal spot for nutritional therapy. Natural treatments for dog heart problems that can be easily used are raw foods, herbal therapy, exercise, environmental factors, homeopathy, hands-on therapies, color therapy, and flower essence. Additionally, normal dog food diets can be supplemented with Vitamin E, Vitamin A and Vitamin C, trace minerals, coenzyme Q10, and essential fatty acids to aid in the prevention of heart problems. Vitamin E has been studied to be one of the best supplements to prevent heart disease, with natural Vitamin E complex the best to be used instead of in synthetic form.

Holistic practitioners for pets use Omega 3 fatty acids above any other supplementary treatment for animal kidney disease, arthritis, and high cholesterol. It also is known for its anti-inflammatory effects and relieving itching from atopic dermatitis. The dosage of human fish oil capsules are 1500 mg soft gel fish oil for dogs weighing over 20 pounds. Smaller dogs can also use oil capsules that are meant for humans, puncturing the 1000-1500 mg capsule and pouring about half into their food for the family cat or dog. Some studies say that pets with allergies should be give a higher dose of fish oil, while also needing GLA (omega-6 fatty acids for skin health). If in doubt, always go to a holistic veterinarian or even the family vet for advice. Fish oil supplements are like miracle workers for anyone with heart problems and plugged arteries. Dogs are no different, with fish oil reducing a loss of heart muscle mass in dogs who have suffered from heart problems. Cachexia, a serious heart condition, causes the dog to develop decreased strength and immune function. If a dog is given fish oil supplements, it will develop fewer symptoms than dogs that do not receive them, able to live longer and healthier lives.

There are enough natural foods and supplements to allow the dog to pick and choose what it likes and enjoys eating. Our ancients have long used cider vinegar, particularly Edgar Cayce who prescribed it for many diseases and body problems. It is considered essential potassium which can be added to food and water, forming a tincture by adding cider vinegar or garlic to the cider vinegar. Garlic for the heart has been used just as long as cider vinegar has, as it is both a food and a medicinal herb. Another herb is hawthorn berry as it repairs and strengthens heart muscle, with no adverse side effects no matter how long it has been used.

Magnesium is very important for the dog's heart but this is an ingredient which needs dosage information in supplemental form from the veterinarian or holistic veterinarian. Magnesium can be given in natural form through raw bones - also providing calcium and potassium. Raw bones should be given as the first choice for magnesium to dogs. Other supplements for a dog's heart health are zinc, selenium or chromium, provided through raw turkey, lamb or beef, brewer's yeast or Brazil nuts.

The Advantages of Using a Travel Agency on Holiday

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

There are quite a few advantages to using a travel agent whilst on holiday - but many of them aren't recognized. A lot of people seem to think travel agencies are a rip-off, and that people can do it all themselves. You're right, you probably can. But I know someone who tried to go to Peru - got a quote from a travel agency and didn't like it. He then organized the trip himself. His flight was delayed by 2 days on the way there because he chose a bad company. He got there, and found out he could no longer rent a car because he came too late. His suitcase was damaged, and he ended up ruining what could have been the trip of a lifetime.

How could a travel agency have helped? They can get you a decent quality airline for a cheao price, to start. This is because they bulk buy, and get a discount. Secondly, if you arrive late and find that you can't rent a car anymore, then you can't do anything. But if the travel agency were to book the rental company - then they probably use that company every time someone wants to go to Peru. The rental company don't care about losing 1 customer - but if the travel agency are not treated nicely the company could lose a huge amount of customers so they'll probably arrange something for you. It's the same for if you miss a flight and you are late for you hotel booking - they will compromise because you are with an agency. In essence, if you run into trouble, all you have to do is pick up the phone.

But what about the cost? Well, you will have paid the agency a certain amount, and probably saved at least that if not more. And that's only talking about money, don't forget that they'll have saved you a lot of money. And everyone knows that time IS money. Travel agnecies get good deals, so you'll either end up paying the same amount of money overall that you wouldve done without travel agency and get a better standard - or pay less and get the same standard. Just outline what you want from the trip and what your budget is. And don't forget that travel agency's have experience. They've organised safari holidays where animals have gone wild, they've organised hiking holidays where someone has been injured. Just pick up the phone, and they can give you details of the nearest hospital or put you through to the emergency services, like a 24 hour personal assistant. So if you want to get value for money, I recommend travel agencies - even if they cost you a little to hire.

I'm not saying that you should use a travel agent all the time, but it's worth checking out if you're going on a long trip, far away - or a trip that could be extreme. Travel agencies can save you money and time - and provide you with a service.

Reducing Clutter in Your Home is a Fun and Rewarding Project

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Managing clutter is tough, even when you live alone. If you are in a home with a spouse and children, or you have roommates, clutter can get so out of control it takes over your entire life. However, if you make a commitment to getting it under control and you plan out a strategy for tackling the problem, you will be living in a clutter free environment before you know it. The trick is to eliminate the possibility for clutter before it even begins. If you deal with items as they come into your home instead of waiting for them to build up and take over everything, you will stop clutter in its tracks. If it never starts, you never have to take care of the problem! First, you need to get everyone on board with your clutter plan. All the members of your household must understand your intentions and accept how important it is to not have clutter in your life. If anyone in the family thinks clutter is no big deal and they continue to live their lives in a cluttered environment, it will affect everyone around them. So be sure before you begin enacting your plan you have the full cooperation of your housemates. Next, look for hot zones that clutter before everything else. Do you have a pantry full of store bags and to go bags? You are not alone. There are plenty of ways to deal with this problem including using fabric substitutes for the plastic varieties that pile up, or taking a stash back to the store with you and reusing the same pieces over and over again. You can also find alternative uses like animal waste or lunch sacks. This keeps you from facing a towering heap every time you open the pantry.

Another problem area for your home might be the entryway. This is one of the most important areas to keep organized, but it is one of the most easily cluttered. As people come in the door they have a tendency to kick off their shoes, toss their purses to the ground, remove their coats, heave the mail onto the counter, and leave whatever items they have with them on the nearest table. After an afternoon of three or four people doing this, the area will start to look like a trash heap. First, design the area in a way that makes sense for its purpose. Put hooks for coats or use a nearby closet. Put a basket nearby for keys and sunglasses, and a bin to hide shoes away. Be sure to make a rule about how many pairs of shoes each family member can keep by the door. Next, install a shelf, or use a surface where the key basket is located for important papers, purses, and incoming and outgoing mail. This keeps the area organized without inconveniencing anyone.

It may be impractical to expect people to put their belongings into their own space and then recollect them every time they go out. However, it is not impractical to ask that stuff be put away in a convenient location that makes a home feel better and makes lives run more smoothly.

Search Engine Optimization and Website Design

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Want to know a great way to waste money when creating a new website or updating an old one? Ignore search engine optimization (SEO). At best, you'll ensure that no one can find your website. At worst, you may find yourself plunging in the search engine rankings.

Why should you care about SEO?

High search engine ranking - especially on Google - is critical for B2B marketers these days because your best prospects are actively looking for you and that's how most of them will find you.

For those of you who like statistics there are multiple studies supporting the importance of organic search. All point to the same findings: over 80% of business-to-business purchases involve online research and most involve a search engine. Far more searchers click on organic listings than click on paid listings. (A study conducted by metaseach engine Dogpile found that 84.2% of clicks were on organic listings).

If you're building a brand new website, you want to take search engine optimization issues into consideration from the get-go. Otherwise you run the risk of having to do everything all over again once you come to your senses and realize how important search really is.

If you're making over an existing site, proceed with caution - especially if your current site has some decent rankings. Horror stories abound about website owners who "update" their sites only to see their rankings crash.

What factors should you be concerned with?

There are three key elements of successful search engine optimization: keyword selection, on-site factors and off-site factors (generally other sites linking to your site).

Start with the right keywords.

Good keyword selection means identifying the words and phrases your prospects use to find a product or service like yours. Note the emphasis on "words and phrases your prospects use". This does not mean words you use to describe your products - a mistake many B2B marketers make.

It also means finding the right balance between search volume and competition. You want to optimize for keywords that are searched for with some frequency yet have little enough or unsophisticated enough competition that you stand a decent chance of achieving - and maintaining - a good ranking before the next millennium.

Even if you already have a site that is optimized for a good set of keywords, a website development project is still a good time to revisit your keyword list. Prospects, markets, and search terms constantly change over time, and you want to stay on top of what is currently being used.

On-site optimization.

The on-site optimization factors include both content and site structure. This intent of this article is not to tell you how to optimize your site, but merely to convince you of the importance of doing it as part of a website development project.

Briefly, once you have your keywords selected, you'll want to use them carefully in your content. This includes text, page titles, meta tags, images, and now even flash animation.

In days gone by, overloading a page with keywords was an effective SEO strategy. This can work against you now. It is far better to create content that makes sense to your human visitors than to create content simply for the search engines.

Other aspects of on-site optimization to take into consideration are your site structure and the ease of which both humans and search engines can find sense in the organization, the use of text links on your pages, file and URL names, and a seemingly endless list of other fine points.

If this article has given you the impression that you need expert SEO assistance when you develop or re-develop your website, you're right! It would be a mistake to ignore such a critical element of online marketing success; and by paying attention to the factors mentioned in this article, you'll be well ahead of most of your competitors.

Way too many websites are created or modified without a thought given to search engine optimization. It's an unfortunately easy way to waste money on websites that don't perform well. Another way to look at it, of course, is that all those websites being developed without SEO consideration just make it easier for you to succeed.

The Language of the Earth

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Language is more than just words. Words are mere combinations of letters which, when articulated together, form a sound that is recognizable and has meaning attached to it. That last step is the only crucial part to communication; as long as your audience can attach the same meaning to your sounds that you intend to project, you are being "heard." This is an ongoing, wordless process in the animal kingdom. A bird will sing a different song to indicate danger than it would to attract a mate. Plants will give off a specific scent to attract pollinating insects. This is a type of language far different from what modern humans are used to. Often, as with plants, there is not even a sound being emitted, but rather a signal that has associative significance. "Whenever I quiet the persistent chatter of words within my head, I find this silent or wordless dance always already going on-this improvised duet between my animal body and the fluid, breathing landscape that it inhabits"(Abram 53).

Early Homo sapiens used art and oral storytelling as forms of expression, thus drawing solely from sensorial experience in order to convey meaning. They would interact with the earth by placing the stories in their respective geographic locations. When humans adopted writing, they began to interact directly with symbols on paper; these symbols represented sounds which had meaning attached to them. Objects, actions, and emotions were given names, and the most knowledgeable members of society established a template for expressing the environment. This built a foundation upon which humans could more effectively convey their thoughts to each other, but compromised their ability to primordially interact with the natural earth. As we categorize our environment by assigning a name to everything, we systematically learn to relate our world to this "template" which is disjointed from nature. Written language can bring people closer together, but it also causes people to forget the natural languages of their surrounding living environment.

The majority of communication is nonverbal. This fact seems hard to believe until you actually observe people interacting with each other. To understand what somebody is trying to say, you must listen to their words and inflection but also watch their body language and facial expressions. Often times my roommate and I communicate without using any words, just obnoxious sounds and motions. If somebody else was listening in, they would diagnose us as insane. Jake and I, however, find the communication completely comprehensible. When two people have a mutual understanding of how to interpret a message, the rules of language are unnecessary.

It would seem as if a primitive method of communication (such as between Jake and I) is only possible when two people have known each other for long enough to be able to accurately read each other's expressions by drawing upon memory. Amy Tan, in "Mother Tongue," described how, while she understood her mother's limited English, others believed "her English reflected the quality of what she had to say. That is, because she expressed them imperfectly her thoughts were imperfect"(Tan 517). I believe that the challenge of comprehending an unfamiliar dialect is rooted in prejudice. When people have a firm belief in a "correct" way to speak, they do not make an attempt to resonate at somebody else's frequency. People cannot hear Mrs. Tan because they don't try to listen. There is no "correct" way to express your thoughts. Even if we believe this notion, we are often prejudiced in that we get distracted by the blunders of somebody's articulation. While we should be listening, we instead focus on the strangeness of a person's way of speaking, and we stop making an effort to learn how to decode their unorthodox dialect. The preference for the formality of written language thus hinders communication.

Written language can also get in the way when it comes to the primary purpose of any species: mating. Although smooth-talking doesn't hurt, sexual attraction is a physiological phenomenon that doesn't involve impressing your partner with mastery of a formal language. It really comes down to the way the two people affect each other sensuously. A couple months ago I witnessed two ducks courting: they were swimming along in the Millrace and the male began to bob his head up and down. The female soon bobbed her head in unison with him, and then they swam off together. It made me think of human flirting patterns, and the way we employ "pick-up lines." Whatever happened to simple eye contact, smiling, and body language? Why does a lack of speaking have to be considered an "awkward silence"? I believe we have been conditioned to favor language rather than to genuinely express our feelings. Attraction is an immediate experience which usually doesn't require any vocal interaction at all.

The other day I was walking through campus with my friend. We were making gibberish noises that had a song-like inflection, but we weren't practicing any written language. As we walked by a raven, it squawked at my friend, as if in response to the sounds he was making. I was almost positive that the crow had heard my friend; it was looking right at him! My mind began to wander to inter-species relations and the notion that the way we communicate within the human race is not rooted within the earth. The essence that created life on earth and humans with sensory abilities did not have a purpose to work through people to create the Greek Alphabet. It was man's blind pursuit of progress that brought us to the curious state in which we find ourselves asking many questions without answers. Animals don't band together to create a standard by which they will interact with one-another; they use associative learning which attaches specific sensorial experiences to specific emotions. This is how they instinctively know to pursue or flee from a sound, smell, or sight. Written language works in a different way; not every word reflects upon our senses.

A word has no significance until we give it significance. To do this, the word must represent something that can be identified. Prejudiced words identify hate that is often unattached to the denotation of the word. The person on the receiving end of a hateful word like "nigger" or "faggot" will most likely feel offended because these words are historically violent. When a word is widely understood to be violent, institutions tend to prohibit utterance of the word. This policy proves to be unsuccessful: "As long as they remain bigoted, bigots will simply find other words... The vocabulary of hate is potentially as rich as your vocabulary, and all you do by banning language used by cretins is to let them decide what the rest of us may say"(Rauch 504). Censorship is futile because language has the ability to adapt to its environment. New words are constantly being created in an attempt to explain every aspect of our lives; it is unfortunate that prejudiced words like "faggot" don't really identify anything but a verbal attack. Prejudice is a word that represents an idea. An idea like "prejudice" or "freedom" is not readily identifiable, and cannot be defined without referring to human interaction. We are ignorant to the fact that the words we create are only reflective of the human realm, and will never effectively describe the meaning of life.

There is no doubt in my mind that written language reduces violence and improves interactions between humans. I'm sure that everybody prefers verbal violence over physical violence. Without the ability to intricately express ourselves in a manner that everybody can understand, we might not be able to respectfully get through our disagreements. Also, we must thank language for its fruit of technology and government; without a proper way to describe our environment, we wouldn't have developed the terminology to invent science and law. But if we can step back from the thought that humans and our accomplishments are special, and come to see our bodies as a set of vital natural processes such as respiration and digestion, we can understand our existence as one of many inter-connected organisms of this planet. With the words we have created, we objectify our world in terms of how everything relates to our lives, and therefore lose the ability to see the earth as one living entity. We view trees as "timber," cows as "beef", plants as "crops" and wind as "energy." The average person can no longer appreciate the whisper of the wind, the chirping of birds, or the crashing of waves. The natural world has a language of its own, composed of a myriad of sensorial stimuli. Humans used to be in tune with this language, listening and responding to the voice of the land they lived on. Through written language, we now perceive ourselves as a superior species, worthy of organizing our planet for our benefit. This selfish attitude has brought Homo sapiens economic progress at the expense of a deteriorating planet. "Despite all the mechanical artifacts that now surround us, the world in which we find ourselves before we set out to calculate and measure it is not an inert or mechanical object but a living field, an open dynamic landscape subject to its own moods and metamorphoses"(Abram 32). Once we learn to appreciate life, we can understand that the languages we have built cannot replace the language of the earth.

Top 10 Most Dangerous, Expensive, Loyal, & Fascinating Dog Breeds

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Calling them "man's best friend" may be a cliche, but no description is more apt to describe the relationship of humans with these fascinating creatures. Loyal, smart, protective, fun and playful, dogs have served as man's ultimate companion since time immemorial.

But did you know that a dog's loyalty to his master can reach enormous, fascinating levels? Yes, there are dog breeds which are amazingly loyal to their owners.

What other "mosts" are there when it comes to these canines which man has considered to be his best friend since time immemorial? How about the world's most expensive dog breed? Or the most dangerous? Or you probably are hoping to own a canine breed which is considered to be one of the most fascinating.

Here, we will take a look at the world's most amazing dog breeds - and describe what is it exactly that makes them so outstanding.

Counting Down the Top 10 Most Amazing Dog Breeds

If you're thinking of a breed of dog to take care of, it is good to have an idea about what its temperament is, its characteristic and what makes it unique. [Owning a Dog]

To help you out, we will have a countdown of the top 10 most amazing dog breeds - ranging from the most dangerous, loyal, fascinating, popular and expensive breeds that you can buy.

1. Doberman Pinscher

Distinction: One of the most dangerous dog breeds in the world.

With their tall and compact bodies, dark color and alert ears, it is easy to see why the Doberman Pinscher as a dog breed is considered to be one of the most dangerous dog breeds in the world. Simply referred to as Doberman, this canine breed originated from Germany.

Generally, a domesticated Doberman is loyal, intelligent and alert. If you own this dog breed, they will be particularly loyal to you and aggressive towards strangers. They also do not like rivalry with other dogs.

What makes caring for a Doberman pinscher particularly dangerous is when the owners lack guidance, subject them to abuse or if not enough attention is given to them - upon which they can become destructive, dominant and extremely aggressive. [Dog Behavior]

2. German Shepherd

Distinction: One of the most dangerous dog breeds in the world.

Another German breed of dog which is considered to be one of the most dangerous in the world is the German Shepherd. Unlike the Dobermans, this breed of canine does not have a particularly menacing look because they have a long coat and a generally mild-looking face.

However, they are extremely intelligent, strong and obedient, which is probably the reason why most police and military establishments employ them as guard dogs. Another characteristic of the German Shepherds which makes them particularly dangerous is their aggression towards smaller dog breeds.

3. Rottweiler

Distinction: One of the most dangerous dogs in the world.

Did you know that Rottweiler is also known as Butcher dog? This canine breed ranks third in our list of the most dangerous dog breeds in the world. They are energetic, intelligent and hardy animals.

The thing which makes Rottweiler - and any dog breed for that matter - become dangerous is when they are subject to abuse and neglect. They also become a hazard to the community if they do not have sufficient training when it comes to mingling with humans or other animals.

In addition, Rottweilers are aggressive towards other dogs of the same sex. If you have cats and birds in the house, they might also exhibit aggressive behavior towards them.

4. Dog Breed: Samoyed

Distinction: One of the most expensive dogs in the world.

Next, we will take a look at a few of the most expensive dog breeds in the world. This 'luxury' dog breed has a price ranging from around ,000 to ,000.

What makes the Samoyed breed particularly expensive is the fact that they are among the ancient dog breeds that have been around for the last three centuries.

There are also a dwindling number of Samoyed dog breeders which is another reason why an owner needs to pay an arm and a leg to call this canine breed his or her best friend.

5. English Bulldog or British Bulldog

Distinction: One of the most expensive dogs in the world.

How would you feel about owning a dog breed which is also owned by the British royals? In the United States in particular, English or British bulldogs are both expensive and popular. This breed of dog is also favored by a lot of men who see the breed as being a symbol of masculinity and tenacity.

If you're thinking about a breed of dog to buy and you are willing to shell out the money for it, then you might as well go with one of the most popular and expensive dog breeds in the world - the British or English bulldog. A typical English bulldog puppy can cost you anywhere from ,000 to ,000.

6. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Distinction: One of the most expensive dogs in the world.

To cap off our list of the most expensive dog breeds, there is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel which can cost anywhere from 0 to about ,500 for a puppy. What makes the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel expensive and special is that they are the ultimate definition of a man's best friend.

When you look at their puppy-dog eyes, their rich coats and their small, compact bodies, it is easy to see why anybody would want to spend a significant amount of money just to be able to own a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy.

7. Labrador Retriever

Distinction: One of the most popular dogs in the world.

Finally, we'll move on to some of the most popular dog breeds in the world. First, there's the Labrador Retriever. They are among the world's most popular dog breeds according to the American Kennel Club because of their friendly demeanor.

If you would like to purchase a dogs which is great with kids and works as a great solo companion as well, then you can never go wrong by choosing to care for a Labrador Retriever.

8. Golden Retriever

Distinction: One of the most popular dog breeds in the worlds.

Golden Retrievers rank next to the Labrador Retriever as the most popular dogs in the world. This cousin breed is almost synonymous with the dog that almost every average American family has.

What's so good about this breed of canine is that they are gentle by nature and their temperament is suitable for kids and all members of the family to play with.

Despite their large size, they do have a way with kids which make for the perfect canine friend. Just make sure that you have enough room for them to grow, because they can weigh as much as 90 pounds.

9. Yorkshire Terrier

Distinction: One of the most popular dog breeds in the world.

Yorkshire Terrier dogs are small pooches which are also an ideal family dog. Let's say that you live in an apartment which allows pets - but there isn't much room for the dogs to move around. Naturally, you would be selecting a breed which is small in nature - and the Yorkshire Terrier is perfect for such a setup.

10. Dachshunds

Distinction: One of the most popular dogs in the world.

This dogs with a unique name, Dachshund, is also known as wiener dogs. They do have a unique body shape and they are known for their playful and sometimes ferocious nature.

There are different kinds of Dachshunds that you can own - including the long-haired, standard Dachshunds which has a calm demeanor, or the wire-haired Dachshund which has a personality more like the terrier's.

Now that you already have an idea about the world's most expensive, dangerous and popular dog breeds, which one are you planning to own?

How to Stop Your Cat Destroying Your Furniture

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Cats need to scratch for health and social reasons. We also know that while a cat's behaviour can be modified, it cannot be trained easily like a puppy. The answer is to find something else for the cat to scratch instead of your pine furniture and to persuade it to express a preference for the new item.

Scratching posts are readily available in various colours and styles. Remember, though, that the post needs to be attractive to the cat, not to you. Cats generally like rough surfaces to have a good scratch on so most posts have sisal wrapped round then and fastened on tightly. Others may have a piece of carpet with the woven reverse to the outer. Both options will have enough friction to keep kitty amused and keep his claws conditioned. A broad base is essential, because if the post topples over onto the cat, he will be afraid of it and will avoid it.

It is tempting to get hold of the cat's front legs and scratch them on the post or to scratch it with your own fingernails to "show him what to do". Do not try this. He will think that you have gone bonkers. He will not be wrong.

Once the cat has started to scratch the post, it may start to look unkempt. Do not replace it at this point. The act of scratching releases a special aroma from near the cat's paw. If that lovely aroma is taken away and replaced by something that smells plasticky and new, that cat may retaliate by attacking the furniture again. Treat that scruffy scratching post with as much tender care as a child's favourite blanket.

The post should be tall enough for the cat to stretch out while he scratches. Thus, a kitten-sized one is a false economy as when it has been outgrown, the lovely smell will be taken away. Remember that cats bear grudges!

We know that cats like to scratch the furniture and how we can obtain an appropriate replacement to scratch at. The big, big problem that needs to be addressed now, is how on earth we can get these beautiful yet diffident creatures to do what we want them to.

If a cat urinates in the wrong place, we would place the litter tray over the spot and gradually move it towards the back door, an inch a day. The same method is used for the scratching post. It has to be placed in front of the item that the cat damages. Cats love the small of catmint, also known as catnip or nepeta. It can help to rub some of the leaves into the post to make it more irresistible. One can also attach the cat's favourite dangly toy to the top of the post. When the cat starts to love using the post, then move it a couple of centimetres each day so it is no longer in your way.

In the meantime, you need to distract the cat from damaging the original article. Cats hate having sticky paws, so the simplest method is to attach double-sided tape or inside-out loops of masking tape to the furniture. Some other cats are put-off by the feel of aluminium foil so that can be attached by using more masking tape. Do not forget that the original scratches will have cat scent on them. This can be covered over by using a lemon-scented spray or floral disinfectant. Test on a hidden area first to prevent staining. Masking tape should be replaced regularly as the lightly-tacky adhesive gets rather more permanent in time.

Of course, training a cat to use a scratching post is most easily achieved when the cat is still a young kitten. Cats are creatures of habit so it is wise to start them off with good ones while young.

Do You Train the Child Or Train the Dog?

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Play can get easily become over zealous; a dog may knock a toddler over or a child might poke the dog in the eye. If a child gets hurt in play it will either cry or lash out and a dog is no different. If a dog feels threatened, tormented or frightened, it will defend itself.

Training your dog respect a child is not enough; we need to teach our children how to behave around dogs as well. Dogs are essentially pack animals and belong to a pack we call "our family". Each pack has a hierarchy which each pack member slots into. Your dog may see the child as a playmate or underling, and not above it in the pack order.

Training a child is often easier than training a dog but the child needs to understand that a growl means, "Stop doing that!" The next step is the snarl: the dog bares his teeth, and raises his hackles to make it look bigger and more ferocious. The snarl means, "If you don't stop I'm going to bite you! This is your last warning!"

Children need to be taught how to approach strange dogs too; their instinct is often to stroke a dog's head but a dog's instinct is to raise its head to follow the strange hand and if the child jumps back in alarm, the dog can see this as a form of aggression.

Simple things like high pitched screaming or squealing and even running past a dog can seem threatening to a dog. Dogs chase runners. If you want your dog to follow you, get its attention and run the other way, chances are it will overtake you!

Kids shouldn't touch a dog with a bone, chew or when eating. They need to be taught to respect a dog's privacy when in their kennel or bed. Puppies need lots of naps during the day to give their body time to grow in much the same way as babies.

Children have little comprehension of consequence; even in their late teens they struggle to understand that each of their actions has a consequence which could have predicted if they had stopped to think. To a child, climbing a tall tree to get an apple would hardly require a second thought; they never considered how they would get down afterwards because it was not a problem at the time.

A child will see a bitch with her puppies and instinctively want to pick one up. Bitches with puppies are especially protective and will defend their young; their instinct is that of survival so it is likely to be a "no holes barred" contest with the odds in favor of the bitch.

Once the dog and child understand each other, they will probably become the best of friends. Lonely children can benefit from having a dog to confide in because dogs keep secrets! Friends may come and go, but the dog always there, and loves us no matter what everyone else thinks of us.

A dog can help a child through stressful changes, like moving house or changing school. It gives stability to life. The love that a dog can bestow on a child gives a child a positive self-image, and can help to ward off depression and anxiety.

It can be helpful to talk to the dog instead of the child. "Come Lady, good dog, it's bed-time story time" can be more effective than ordering a child to get to bed. If the child sees the dog obeying they may respond favorably too!

When a child and a dog understand and respect each other they can both benefit enormously and it is hoped that the child will learn that a dog can be "man's best friend."

Network Marketing - 3 Important Qualities To Success

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

It is very common that every household wants to have more money in their life. With the thoughts of having more money creates a lot of negativity and out of focus mindset. Positive Mindset is a great pattern for everyone to develop when it comes to providing for your loved ones. Like most things in life, the perfect plan to achieving wealth is a focused plan of events that everyone needs to spend time on properly.

3 Powerful Ingredients To Success In Network Marketing:

1.) We all want more money, but what are you willing to do to make it a reality. That is what separates most of us from the successful wealthy entrepreneurs. We focus on what they achieved rather than rewinding and looking at their journey. Yes, anyone can overwhelmed by Warren Buffet's success plan if you're looking at all that he accomplished, but lets rewind and focus at his beginning. He did not start his adult life with everything he wanted, he had to prove to the right people he was worth the attention. His first daughter, Susie, slept in a dresser drawer to help save money. Warren had a personal vision of what he wanted and was determined to get it! That is motivation that every networker has to have in order to succeed. If you do not see the big picture down the road you will never get there.

2.) Another super important part is partnering not only with the right Network Marketing Company, but personal team are both equally important for success. Many people lack in researching what is out there and what business model and team makes the best sense for them to succeed. Network Marketing is a growing development process where everyone needs to begin with leadership to duplicate the success of both the business and their upline's success. Many people are mislead to believing that they have to attack every family, friend, or person they come in contact with, and that is only true if you are a hungry animal in search of your next meal. Have the right product or service and right team module will get you closer to success than being a nuisance of society.

3.) Understand the principal and task that needs to be done with network marketing. People turn to networking to make more money, and honestly that is why majority of us do it. Unfortunately, we all do not work in an environment where we can decide how much money we are going to make this week; where as, in network marketing you are paid on exactly what you do! Beauty of this process is it might only require 30 minutes to 1 hour of your time each day, but at the end of the month can generate you more money that your 40 hour work week!

Network Marketing is key to helping all people regardless of their education, wealth, and experience achieve what they might have never thought was possible. It has evolved tremendously from the 1950's, so do not think you know everything about it because like everything else in life it is evolving massively everyday and you now need to decide whether you are going to cash in and grow old with unfinished dreams and results!

A Home DIY Project - Putting in A Garden Pond

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

It's spring time and many homeowners are looking for the next big project to improve their own living space and boost the value of their property.

Garden ponds can greatly enhance your home's property value and bring you to a new level of peace and serenity. Garden ponds have increased in popularity in the last ten years or so. It's common to add fish such as koi, goldfish, tropical and sub-tropical fish. However, it's not always just as simple as digging a hole, constructing a garden pond needs careful planning to avoid unwanted expenses that come with repairs and retro-fits. The easiest method is to buy a complete pond kit, or you can assemble the pieces separately including items such as pond liners, water features, pumps and more.

The pond has the ability to change the entire appearance of your yard. Flowers, fountains, pond lights and other garden accessories are a great way to make an ordinary yard look truly unique. Garden ponds can be installed above or below ground with pre-formed pond liners. Small fiberglass ponds with a rock-like finish are perfect for beginners.

Maintenance tasks are minimal and require less time than any other expressions of keeping aquariums or aquatic features. Garden ponds are a great way to attract many different species of wildlife to your home including especially invertebrates such as dragonflies and amphibians. Depending on how rural you are you may attract larger animals such as deer, and certainly birds. Unfortunately some of the creatures may not be welcome additions, including reptiles and raccoons.

After a Dog Attack

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

As a proud dog owner for my entire life, let me first say that I have nothing but love for man's best friend. I have never had one of my dogs bite anyone, nor have I been bitten by an attacking dog (although I had a close call once). When dogs are well trained and raised in a proper, loving home, they are healthy members of the family and our eternal confidants.

Still, like some humans we know, the occasional dog can be a bad apple. Usually it is due to being raised in a bad home, or sometimes due to bad genetics. These dogs can be dangerous whenever we intrude upon what they consider to be their territory, or otherwise upset them. Dog attacks can be vicious, although most people survive them. There are many ways to help protect yourself from attacks, such as carrying pepper spray or a noise maker. For now, I will focus on what to do after the fact when you have been attacked by a dog.

Assuming you are able to stand and walk on your own, you should first return home and possibly call 911 depending on the severity of the injury. If you are bleeding dark blood profusely, you may have suffered an arterial wound and you could potentially lose consciousness. If you are lucky, it will be a smaller wound and you or a family member can take you to the emergency room. Don't chance it though; call 911 first and let them instruct you on what to do.

Once you are in the ER, they will treat you for rabies and tetanus, as well as several other possible infections. Be mindful of the instructions of the ER staff, as like any serious cut, a dog bite can become infected down the road and potentially become life threatening. You will most likely need to wash the wound several times a day and re-bandage it. This will be easier if you have someone to help you, but you may need to do it one handed so make sure you ask for a demonstration on how to do this.

Once you are healed or on the way to being so, you should consider your legal rights. As long as you were not trespassing on someone else's property, you most likely have legal protections and recourse. Ambulances, ER doctors, and antibiotics are not cheap, and someone will have to pay for them. If you have insurance, they may insist that you seek legal recourse. Either way, you should contact a personal injury lawyer. In many situations a person has been negligent in their handling of the animal, which was a direct cause of your injury. If this is the case, they have a moral and legal responsibility to pay for your injuries which only occurred because of their negligence. Don't skip this step; you should not be held responsible for the injuries which occurred due to no wrong-doing of your own.

For more references on protection from dog attacks, I recommend looking into non-lethal self defense systems like anti-dog noise makers and pepper spray. When walking your own dog or being in a dog-heavy area, have these items available so you do not end up being hurt by someone else's mistakes.

Stay safe!

-Cias

Eco-Friendly Wedding Gift Ideas

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

"Being green," these days is very chic, so eco-friendly weddings and gifts are becoming very popular. Natural gifts and recyclables, which were once thought to be "cheap," are now very trendy. Most givers and recipients of environmentally conscious gifts are pleased to be part of the bigger trend to save Mother Earth.

As you and your partner plan your wedding, consider registering for some great eco-friendly gifts as well as giving them to your family members and bridal party. There are some great companies today that provide top-of-the-line, creative fare.

Here are some ideas for great eco-friendly gift ideas and how to find them:

Recyclables and Handmade Items

Merchandise created in harmony with the environment, without harming animals or people are great gifts to give. There are several companies out there today, including UnCommonGoods, that offer trendy cheese platters made from recycled wine bottles or gorgeous bowls made out of re-purposed windshield glass.

Other companies, like Etsy, offer online marketplaces for handmade gifts. There are thousands of gifts to choose from and they're all handmade. There are handmade bracelets made from beach-gathered materials where every piece of the bracelet is either recycled, upcycled, repurposed, or reused--even the bracelet itself was recycled according to the site with every bit of the sterling silver being obtained from an eco-friendly supplier.

To find items such as these, search "Recycled and Handmade Gifts." You'll be pleasantly surprised at what you find.

Fair Trade Gifts

Companies such as Global Exchange are dedicated to promoting environmental, political and social justice and offer online avenues to purchase handmade, crafted items from low income or abandoned women who have employment and training in traditional skills. These organizations provide access to a fair wage, health care, education and marketing skills for these women and strive to raise worker's self esteem and their ability to compete effectively in the marketplace.

To find great gift ideas and to help international fair trade efforts, search "Fair Trade Gift Ideas." You'll not only find perfect gifts you'd love to receive, you'll also find great gift ideas for your family and bridal party.

Bamboo

Bamboo clothing products are one of the most eco-friendly products that you'll find, and they're very comfy and cozy too! For starters, bamboo grows at an astonishing rate of up to four feet per day (so there's an overabundance), and it is naturally antimicrobial. Plus, it doesn't require any pesticides or herbicides throughout its growth process. Bugs just plain don't like the stuff, so Mother Earth is safe!

Bamboo fabric is currently used to create beautiful bamboo bedding sets--including bamboo sheets, blankets, bedspreads and duvets--which every couple would love to own. You can also register for luxurious bamboo bath towels and fashionable, eco-friendly clothing. There is nothing cozier and softer than bamboo to warm your soul!

Brides, you may also want to consider luxurious bamboo bath mitts, natural bamboo soap bars, and cozy bamboo nightshirts as great gifts for your bridesmaids.

Donations

Instead of requesting gifts for yourself or trying to figure out what to get those people in your wedding party, consider a donation in the recipient's honor to an environmental organization or socially responsible group. A few non-profits that you may want to consider include:

The Nature Conservancy

Conservation International Foundation

Trees for the Future

Conservation Fund

The Clean Water Network

Memberships

Another great gift idea, for giving or receiving, might be a membership. An annual pass to a national park, museum passes or concert tickets are thoughtful gifts. Plus, they don't create any waste and will bring great pleasure to the recipients!

After you've registered for the eco-friendly gifts that you want, and you've purchased the ones that your wedding party and family will receive, don't forget to accessorize your wedding with an eco-friendly guest book, soy votive candles. You may also want to choose environmentally friendly wedding invitations...all which can be found at Best Little Wedding Shop.

Health Foods With Harmful Ingredients

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Sometimes we all probably feel like we are walking through a nutrition mine field. What one person or organization calls healthy is deemed unhealthy or even deadly by another. So what is a person to do when faced with the idea of trying to improve food choices in order to achieve a healthy fit body?

Luckily there are a few things that we are absolutely certain of and these things are the focus of this article. There are a lot of everyday, common foods and food storage items that most people don't give a second thought, but that in actuality could seriously affect their overall health and quality of life.

This first unhealthy substance isn't actually a food, but it is something we commonly store foods in. Even health food stores sometimes place their "healthy" food in containers made of this cancer-linked substance. In June 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a report saying that styrene has a high probability of causing cancer. Now, given the fact that I've been in the fitness industry for quite some time, this is not news to me, but perhaps it is to you. Styrene is everywhere and it's a challenge to avoid it. Here are some very common products containing this potentially cancer-causing substance.

  1. Styrofoam cups and plates
  2. To-go boxes from restaurants
  3. Foam packing material
  4. Industrial emissions
  5. Second-hand cigarette smoke
  6. Floor waxes
  7. Paints and varnishes

Fortunately for us wisdom is power in this case. There are very simple alternatives to styrene these days and glass food and liquid containers are your best bet for ensuring the things you put in your body are not contaminated with unwanted and in some cases, deadly ingredients.

A second potentially harmful issue surrounds farm raised salmon (tilapia also). When we think of salmon we think of a beautiful vibrant fish leaping over small water falls in order to spawn, you know, just like we see on the Discovery Channel. Well, this isn't the reality for farm raised salmon. Instead envision tiny ponds densely packed with fish that have never felt a day of freedom. If this doesn't make you feel uneasy, the rest of the story will. Farm raised salmon are malnourished due to the fact that they are fed cheap sources of food in order to keep costs at a minimum. Feathers are a staple in the farm raised salmon's diet because it's a cheap source of protein. Because they are so poorly fed, their skin is a drab shade of gray. Since this wouldn't sell very well, these farm raised salmon are injected with the colorant Canthaxanthin in order to produce that healthy-looking pink color. Farmed salmon contain much higher levels of Poly-Chlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxins that do their wild-caught cousins. Research has shown that even a small amount of these compounds may cause irreparable brain development damage in children. Moreover, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced that ingesting more than a single serving of farm-raised salmon in a given week may cause a person to exceed the maximum intake level for these substances according to the World Health Organization. So many people eat salmon in an effort to be healthy and get those essential fatty acids found in this fish's oil. Unfortunately they are being deceived because not only do these fishes have lower quality oils than their wild-caught cousins, but they also have tissues (meat) fed with potentially harmful substances.

Here is a list of some of the substances farm-raised salmon ingest:

Antibiotics Flesh dye (Canthaxanthin) Animal feces Blood meal Magnesium sulphate Bird feathers Animal bone meal Cane molasses Potassium iodide Sodium carbonate Soy Zinc oxide Di-calcium phosphate Yeast Copper carbonate Fowl organs Cobalt sulphate Cellulose

Unfortunately this story only gets worse but you get the picture. Farm-raised fish is a huge issue that has health conscious and environmentally conscious people up in arms over these practices.

Always look for "wild caught" fish whenever possible.

Be on the lookout for catchy names that are meant to trick you. For instance, many restaurants serve "Atlantic Salmon." This is another way of saying that these fish are farm-raised. Be careful when selecting fish at the grocery store or restaurant. I recommend you choose "wild caught" whenever possible.

Another troublesome "health" food has been a part of many American's diets for decades. This food is the one we know as microwaved popcorn. While this is certainly a tasty snack, it seems there could be some real drawbacks to using microwaved popcorn instead of popping it the old fashion way (in a pan using cooking oil).

The potentially harmful substance under scrutiny is called diacetyl. This chemical is used to give microwaved popcorn that wonderful buttery aroma. Popcorn companies have paid hundreds of millions of dollars in claims to workers who are exposed to the dangerous fumes given off by diacetyl in the factories where the popcorn is produced. Unhealthy, life altering evidence abounds where this chemical is concerned. While the scientific community readily admits diacetyl exposure in the work place is a dangerous thing, much of the science stops there without going into the homes of people who frequently eat this supposedly "healthy" snack.

It's not a reach to assume that anything causing serious problems to the workers dealing with it could also cause problems to someone actually eating it. Over time, who knows how potentially serious the health ramifications could be. My recommendation is to take a few extra minutes and enjoy popcorn the old-fashioned way, cooked on a stove, in a pan with cooking oil using real butter as a topping.

The three food items mentioned in this article are highlighted primarily because of their tremendous presence in our everyday lives. Every store is packed with farm-raised fish, styrene stored foods and microwavable foods containing harmful chemicals. Be on the lookout for harmful substances in many of the foods you think of as healthy.

Here's a few tips for those of you that are feeling a bit overwhelmed by the situation:

  1. If the package crackles when you pick it up, it's probably processed and loaded with chemicals.
  2. If it has more than five items in its ingredient list, it's probably junk.
  3. If you cannot pronounce any number of the ingredients, you can probably assume they are substances that your body was not designed to consume.

So I wish you well in your quest of living a healthy, fit lifestyle and hope you'll expand your awareness and knowledge of those foods that do benefit you and those that masquerade as health foods in order to lure you to the check-out counter.

Beginner Horseback Riding Lessons - Read This Before Taking Lessons

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Read on for things that's essential to know before you take Beginner Horseback Riding Lessons.

So you want to learn how to ride a horse? Well, there is something special about the human - horse relationship. No doubt about that. Here are some things you should know before you take Beginner Horseback Riding Lessons.

It's a big plus if you can get to know horses - their breeds, colors, height and recommended uses.
You'll need to understand the differences between English & Western styles of riding.
Also, before you start riding a horse, it's best if you get to know the horse - they have personalities too! Likewise, the horse should get to know and trust you.

Learning to ride a horse can be a fun & rewarding experience for people of all ages. However, if the proper skills and safety techniques aren't learned beforehand, you can end up taking many hard falls. That's a big reason many beginner horseback riders end up quitting. Falls and injuries can be avoided if the beginning horseback rider takes the time to study the proper horseback riding techniques prior to riding a horse. Just like with learning to ride a bicycle; you first had to fully understand your restrictions, and what the bicycle is capable of. Same goes with learning to ride a horse. Did you know that 90% of falls and horse related injuries result from an inexperienced rider?

If possible, it is beneficial if you can read some horse-related books before taking beginner horseback riding lessons. That way, you know basic horse - related information. You wouldn't want to begin taking lessons knowing nothing about these beautiful animals. Some of the basic things you need to know are before taking beginner horseback riding lessons are: What you should wear when riding and what not to wear, how to mount & dismount, the various gaits of the horse, understanding the mind of the horse, how to stay in control, etc.

Also, it's good to know that it's natural to be scared the first time you ride. But don't let the horse know that. Horses are like children; they sense when their rider is insecure. So even if you're afraid, act relaxed. Fake it till you make it!

Riding a horse can be one of the most thrilling experiences of your life. Stick with it. Learning to ride a horse can be slow & hard work. Don't give up. Knowing that lots of experienced horse riders did not grow up around horses and also took beginner horseback riding lessons can be reassuring.

Eye Movements, Energy, and the Secret of Hypnosis

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

When demonstrating or teaching NLP Eye Accessing Cues, I've often stated that our eyes are not only windows to our mind, but probably they should be considered an integral part of the brain itself. By studying that special relationship we may also discover some secrets about the functioning of our subconscious mind.

The August 2007, Scientific American contains a very interesting article entitled "Windows on the Mind". In it Susana Martinez-Conde and Stephen L. Macknik, a vision neuroscientist and neurophysiologist, respectively, discuss the implications of the study of microsasaccades, which are minuscule ocular movements. They point out that in order to prevent the fatigue of vision neurons these movements are critical to our ability to see. Indeed, a reduction of eye movement is detrimental to our visual abilities.

Yet, their discussion does not stop there. They go on to mention that research scientists have noticed the bursts in brain neural activity may be related to which visual neurons are being stimulated at any one instant. In turn, the direction of eye movement can reflect objects that a person is interested in. In fact, this can be done at such a subliminal level that no conscious awareness exists. The implication here is that one day we may be able to detect subconscious interests and other thoughts merely by observing the eyes. While this may be heuristic at this point, as a hypnotherapist I find the possibilities intriguing.

We often look at physiological and mind/body relationships as one-way rather than bi-directional. Recently, Ernest Rossi, Ph.D., Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., and Dawson Church, Ph.D., have advanced the theory of epigenetics, which postulate that our thoughts, attitudes and intention, most likely influence our bodies down to the histological (i.e., sub-cellular) level. Indeed, this has been a subject of discuss ever since Dr. Messmer's time. Yes, even the biofeedback phenomenon is based upon the concepts of mind affecting physiology. So, if eyes can tell us something about our subconscious mind, if we consider the relationship between the subconscious mind and our physical bodies, then wouldn't it be possible for us to understand our bodies by understanding and observing our eyes? (I'm sure that the iridologists would have a good time with that statement.)

These concepts should not be surprising. First, consider that our eyes are a major step in translating light energy into neural energy. Second, if there is a relationship between our eyes, subconscious thoughts, and energy, how easy would it be to postulate that there is also a relationship between our thoughts and energy flows throughout our bodies. Therefore, if this line of logic could be developed further, what would be the relationship between our thoughts, our ability to mentally direct energy, and the health not only of our organs, but also our abilities to epigenetically alter our DNA. This adds a whole new argument in favor of our abilities to use our thoughts to hypnotically improve (or degrade) our physical health. (Also, it questions many of the nature-vs.-nurture controversies among the more serious psychologists.) So, just maybe when Benjamin Franklin and company (also, known as the French Royal Commission) disputed Messmer's animal magnetism by saying that the hundreds of medical and psychological cures accomplished by the French doctor's Society of Harmony were only due to the "power of suggestion", they were correct. However, at that point what they did not understand was the relationship between suggestion and physiological changes. Despite over 10,000 recent "good literature" medical studies supporting the efficacy of hypnosis, it is noteworthy that at best most researchers still say that they cannot explain why. Well, just maybe through furthering research into the relationship between suggestion and energy flows we will be able to find some answers.

Do You Need a 3D DVD Player to Enjoy the Full Cinematic Effects of a 3D Movie?

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

If you are into cinematic-enhanced movies, you might be wondering if you will need a 3D DVD player to enjoy a 3D movie. Since most of the movies now are turning 3D, movie-goers are encouraged to watch them in the theaters! But, you might not need a DVD player just to watch 3D movies. How is this possible? You just needed the right gadgets to help you enjoy the movie at home.

How does 3D work?

Traditionally it works by emitting light from the screen. This is best appreciated using red and blue glasses to maximize the effects. Conventional 3D movies work by using SD or Standard Definition methods.

Fast forward to the present, 3D movies now uses stereoscopic filming. Movies like Avatar and My Bloody Valentine use Digital 3D that is more detailed than conventional three dimensional movies.

You will appreciate a Digital 3D movie through High Definition TV due to its clarity.

Is it required to watch 3D movies using a 3D DVD player?

The answer is no. You can still watch 3D movies using your standard TV at home. Just get a pair of red and blue glasses and you are all set!

If you own a HDTV or a 3D DVD player, you get to enjoy a movie in 3D better. Instead of wearing colored glasses, 3D movies in HDTV is best watched using clear glasses to make the scenes 'pop-out'. It gives better results and the satisfaction might be closer to that in a cinema!

Here are some tricks to maximize your viewing pleasure:

* Heighten the brightness in your TV. If you are using standard television to watch a 3D animation, wearing those colored glasses might make the images dim. To avoid this, increase the brightness to compensate the dark shades from your glasses. This might improve the quality a bit.

* Switch off the lights: You get to experience the full cinematic effects by dimming the room. This enhances the images and projects other bright-colored scenery from the screen. It also lessens the double-vision, halo effects and improves the brightness of the effects.

* Sit closer to the television: You will get a better view and focus if you sit in front -- not on the sides. If you must, you can sit a little closer to appreciate the visuals.

So grab a good pair of red and blue glasses, pop-corn, some soda and company and enjoy a three dimensional movie today!

Apple's New Tablet - What Will iPad Cost and How Does it Work?

HOW TO DO 3D ANIMATION :

Apple has finally done it. Apple has released its new tablet device, that is. The Mac public was expecting, indeed clamoring -- for Apple to release such a device -- and soon! For Apple to have failed to do so would have been a major letdown (to its customers as well as its stockholders). The momentum was just impossible to resist.

After all, the iPhone is essentially a miniature tablet computer. Apple has shown that it can "do" such a device like no one else. So, despite Steve Jobs past protestations, releasing a new tablet was a no-brainer. All Apple had to do is scale up its brilliant interface to a larger device.

Did I say "all Apple had to do?" The technical challenges in producing this new device, called the iPad, were enormous. Apple had to essentially design a whole new operating system that is not quite the Mac and not quite the iPhone, rewrite its core applications from scratch, and basically rethink the entire way a computer operates.

Apple was not the first to release a new tablet computer, just as it was not the first to release an MP3 player or cell phone, but it may well be the company that succeeds in making the tablet computer truly "catch fire" with the public.

Apple has a tremendous head start with 140,000+ apps for the iPhone, and it wisely designed the iPad to take advantage of them. The iPad can run iPhone apps at their original size, or in "pixel doubled mode" twice the size as on the iPhone, so that they nearly fill the iPad screen. Developers can easily rewrite their iPhone apps specifically for the iPad in such a way as to take advantage of its new features.

How will the iPad affect Internet marketers? Of course, the "i" in its name stands for Internet (and it's also a clever play on the name of the "iPod"). Surfing the web will be a joy, and a larger screen will give users much more room to work with. Apple's developers brag that it's like "holding the entire Internet in your hand," or like reading a physical book or magazine.

Creation of new apps for the iPad by developers could rival the gold rush that sprang up around the iPhone. Apple offers the SDK 3.2 beta for developers with the tools they need to start creating applications for the iPad, and an iPad simulator that lets them build and run applications on the Mac, lay out the user interface, test memory usage and debug.

Web graphic designers and artists will enjoy the included Brushes application on the iPad's larger screen, although some may feel that it is something like fingerpainting -- a stylus that works with the iPad will not be supported, at least not initially.

Apple has completely rewritten its productivity software iWork for the iPad. Keynote contains custom graph styles, custom-designed themes, animations and effects, and brand-new features designed just for the iPad. Pages includes Apple-designed templates and formatting tools. Numbers offers over 250 formulas, flexible tables and sophisticated charts.

Want to catch up on your marketing reading? Apple has worked hard to make reading e-books, magazines and newspapers pleasurable on the iPad. Apple's e-book reading software has an interface that looks like a bookshelf. Flip the bookshelf over with your finger, and you're brought to the online store where you can purchase new books.

The iPad's built-in Safari browser works just like the one on your Mac. And, like the version on your iPhone, you can scroll through pages by flicking your finger across them, or pinch or double tap to zoom in on a photo.

The Mail application offers a landscape view with a split screen showing both the current e-mail and the unread messages in your inbox. Want to view the current e-mail message by itself? Simply turn the iPad to portrait mode and the message zooms to fill the screen. The iPad will work with popular e-mail providers such as mobile me, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Hotmail and AOL. To compose a message, you just tap and start typing.

This brings us to the onscreen keyboard. Many pundits wondered how text entry would work on Apple's new tablet device. You can use an external keyboard for typing long documents if you wish. However, I think Apple made the right decision in not attempting to build a physical keyboard into the tablet. The goal of the iPad is to bring your data and web surfing up close for an intimate feel. A keypad would simply get between you and the screen.

The on-screen keyboard is much larger, of course, than what is possible on the iPhone. In landscape mode, the keyboard is almost as large as that on a standard laptop. With just a few tweaks to the word recognition and auto-correction features of the iPhone software, typing on this virtual keyboard, I suspect, could be almost as fast as using a real one. Plus, I believe that voice dictation apps could come quickly to the iPad, just as they have to the iPhone.

And, of course, the iPad includes all of the same features as the iPhone, only in a larger form--video, YouTube, the iPod and iTunes, interactive satellite maps, the notepad, a calendar completely redesigned from the ground up for the iPad, Contacts and Spotlight search.

The iPad will be shipped in three different internal storage configurations and with the option of Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + 3G, for a total of six different models. The base model, the 16 GB Wi-Fi only, will start at a reasonable 9, while the top of the line 64 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model will tip the scales at a still affordable 9. Apple has said that, while most new technologies are introduced at a higher price point and slowly work their way down, Apple wanted to do things differently.

When will the iPad be available? Apple expects the Wi-Fi models to ship in late March and the 3G models to ship in April.

The thinness, just 0.5 inches, the light weight, just 1.5 pounds, and the flexibility of this new device are sure to make the iPad popular with Internet marketers and anyone on the go. With its high resolution LED backlight, it's larger display, it's responsive multi-touch screen and its powerful Apple-designed processor, the new iPad will be thin and light enough to take anywhere. And I suspect that many people will choose to do exactly that.
